How can I tell the difference between male and female Oscars.
Plus I moved one of my bigger Oscars to my 85 gallon tank from my 125 gallon and he's being very mean to the other smaller Oscars now. I moved him because my convicts had babies in my big tank and figured my big Oscar would eat them. Think I should move him back and take all the babbies out instead?

There are "no" obvious gender differences for most humans to tell for oscars.
Only other Oscars know for sure, but then again, sometimes I think they can't tell, because I've had two females Oscars spawn on multiple occasions, and I could only tell they were two females, because I saw eggs coming from each.

85 gallons is barely enough for one adult Oscar, I'm not sure how big he is but if he is being aggressive to the others I would say to put him back in the 125 and remove the convict babies. The Convicts will spawn again, and if you leave the babies in the 125 the parents will eat them anyway to clear room for a new batch.

I agree with Gourami Swami, an 85 gal is really only large enough for 1 adult oscar, when there is aggression, it usually means the tank is too small, and has too many fish for its capacity.

Need help, moved oscar to a 125 and he’s not eating and his fin looks to be deteriorating. I️ have left him alone for 2 days thinking he was acting weird cause of the new tank but notice the fin messed up. He’s now upside down heavily breathing. Help!!

if the convicts have fry they will certainly attack your oscar

Convicts are little bada**es. They will attack anything when spawning and rearing their fry.
I had the bright idea to put a pair of convicts in with my two oscars and use their fry as food for the oscars. The convicts claimed a portion of the tank and the oscars ignored ALL of the convicts. Fun times with 100’s of convict fry in my supposedly Oscar tank.

not meaning to offend but a 125 is barely big enough for 2 Oscars, having convicts in the mix a bad ideal, curious how may Oscars do you have?
