Hi,

Whats the best food for cichla ocellaris ?
Osi ?
Hikari ?

I always work with hikari but my seller advise me to change to osi food?

Some advises ?

Thx

I exclusively use Hikari for my bass. Massivore, Floating Carnivore Sticks, and Bio Gold. I supplement every so often with FD krill, Dried Herring, and dried Anchovy along with any bugs/lizards I catch in my yard. Fish are healthy and colorful.

To be honest from all my years of Cichla keeping, since they can be picky with pelleted food, I'd say feed what they like best.
But Hikari does have a lot of options for Monster Fish. So currently I feed Hikari but in the past I've fed trout pellets and hot dogs and have had good results.

I use Hikari, I also mix in some cut tilapia and shrimp, earth worms and crayfish occasionally.
I’ve read , heard that their are better quality foods out there than Hikari I use it because it’s really the only one available local to me.
Fish love it and seem to do good on it though.
I would stay away from processed meats IMHO there’s no benefit to feeding them and lots of information about them causing health problems down the road.
@RD can probably shed more light on this than myself.

RD. RD.

OSI doesn't have much if any following in North America as I don't believe that it is distributed here, so chances of getting support to use it via MFK members will be slim to none, compared to those who feed Hikari.
