hello folks. im justin, new here. i have had an osphronemus for about a year its about 6-7 inches long, hasnt grown much, and is living in a 50 gallon with a 4 inch jack dempsey. i introduced another osphronemus of the same size into the tank and today i awoke to a tore up gourami. my original osphronemus is tearing the other one up and i have no idea why. i just rearranged the plants and added a couple more to give an extra hide space if needed. i know the other osphro is pickin on it because ive seen it, also the jack is a pansey. anyways, it looks like the new tank arrangement is working, if anyone can give me more insite into the behavior of these wonderful fish i would be most grateful.

how big is your tank? if the tank is big enough there should be no troubles with two or more giant gouramis...

Yout Goramy can grow to over 24 inches. So your tank is too small to have 2 even though they are small now in the same tank. I found that 3 the same size reduces aggression. The 3 I have in my 15k I started together in a 180 gal tank and had no problems.

It might also help to remove both of them to buckets for a couple hours and rearrange the tank so that they both feel "new" to the tank when you put them back in.
