i stop by the native section once and u guys/gals have got me hooked. i been looking at the orange spotted and blue spotted sunfish. but i dont have a native tank so i got a few questions. could i put them in a higher temp tank ~80º? how well do they do in groups? how aggressive are they toward other fish?

it would look so cool to have 3-6 sunfish in with my ntt, dont know if it would work though. thanks in advance

Bluespots are very very shy and should only be kept in a species tank with lots of plants and other cover. Orangespots can be kept in a community tank as long as there are no aggressive tankmates. 80 F might be too warm for them long-term. Either can be kept in groups, but they should either be all one sex or with more females than males.

I have to agree with NOTO 80 degree temps are a little high for long-term care for O-spots; but Ive got to admire your choice Orangespotted Sunfish are d--n nice looking, (although I still think central Missouri longear are the most beautifull fish in the world). Im addicted to native centrarchids , kind of like owning Cichlids that wont die when the electricity goes out!
