Hello everyone, I purchased a 10 inch Ossa Knife fish (Rhamphichthys rostratus) around five days ago. Since the natural behavior of these fish are to lie on the bottom, on their sides, I thought it was kind of a boring fish, even though the pattern was amazing. I did some research and found that you can keep more than one of these knife fish together as they will not show any aggression towards another as other knife fish may do. So I went back three days ago to purchase another one to keep it company. I thought that maybe having two, they will school and stay awake throughout atleast some of the day. Well, the new ossa knife fish was much more active than the first one even though it still slept a majority of the day, it would swim around and eat more readily. Today, I decided to feed the fish some live black worms right after lights out. The new ossa knife fish came to the surface for food, so I pinched some worms in between my index finger and my thumb, and hand fed the knife fish. It was not scared at all. It didn't even back up when I stuck my hand in front of it! It was eating very aggressivly even sticking its entire head out of the water at times when I was getting more worms. I'm very excited about this experience and just thought I'd share. Thanks!
