im thinking about using my 20 long as a banjo catfish breeding tank. what im worried about is if i need to remove any of the community that is in there right now. iv got cory catfish, ember tetras, a betta, black kuhli loaches, yellow tail spiny eels and malaysian trumpet snails. any of those guys sound like they could prevent me from becoming a breeder if i dont move them to another tank?

get another tank. actually two tanks. you'll need one for the frys.

There will always be predation on eggs, even from the parents depending on the species.

If you really want to breed, super clean water and a species tank are best. Get another tank for ALL other tankmates.

Have you sexed the cats yet, or are you planning on having like 5-6 in there and hoping you have a female/male pair?
