any other cichlid what is big enoghth to not get eatin (cant fit in its mouth)
frontosa will normaly be the king of the tank so if the rainbows arnt to aggresive they will be fine

I like frontosa with other frontosa.
They are easily spooked/bothered by more active fish and will eventually eat their tankmates. I have seen pictures of a comp bitten clean in half by a Burundi.
A lot of folks been Cyrtocara moori with fronts. They are slightly more active, but not all that aggressive, get to be about the same size and have comparable growth rates.
