nice macaw, does your cat kill lizards and stuff? if not he's cool

lol no, like i said...he is kinda retarded... the most non cat-like cat ever.
He lays around in the sun or hides under the trailor if it's not sunny.... he watches racoons and possums eat his food... follows you around begging for attention and likes his belly rubbed... I have seen him half ass stalk a squirrel once but he doesn't have the attention span for it lol... heard something in the bushes and forgot all about the squirrel.... and something else got his attention before he found the thing in the bushes lol
like I said...special kitty.....

yeah,im just a little wary of cats because my aunt has a cat that stalks me around and can roundhouse kick (front claws were removed) plus a lot of cats in our neighborhood kill things like green anoles just for fun:irked:

My other birdie... she is much much nicer than Jack!
My little Pheonix :) all anxious to come and fly, We are slowly working on training...right now she is just getting used to flying more often

She is usually very good about coming back to me when she is in the air but since i was handling the camera today she got a bit confused and went for Jack's cage

And yes those are miniature Jesses on her feet..... is aiding in the training and will eventually allow to take her out on a creance so she can fly outside...without worry of her getting carried away with the freedom.
Here she is a little tired out after the session today, her stamina is building up nicely though the more i work with her

freakin awesome I want a bird so bad, even just a cockatiel but I worry the noise would bug me over time. Spell check was no help in my bird name lol.

I love birds. But they annoy the crap out of me when they squak. But I can't get rid of my akio. Best blue quaker ever. I LOVE floof jack. Adorable!

The noise with any bird is very controllable you just have to put the time in to work with them, just like a dog that barks all the time, needs time and training. The only difference is that because of the way birds are, they should have a chance to be noisy and vocal on their own time, not necessarily screaming.... but just chattering away to themselves as they play with toys or something. For this reason it is usually best -for the larger parrots at least- to have a separate room where there cage is so they have their own time and area, and then a perch in the family room where they can come out and be social. I have noticed that using a mixture of training techniques for dogs and parenting techniques for toddlers is very effective in macaws.
