My one motoro is near due and about 2 months a ago I had moved her out of my main ray tank cause the male was beating her up really bad (has really healed up good since then) but the tank she is in now has 2 ornate and a sengal bicher in it, sizes about 8"-10". I am worried about the pups when they are born that the bichers will go after them. Like most preditors in the wild can smell the birth and then go hunt for them. I do have a another tank beside plumbed into the tank she is in and plan to move them imediatly into it but I do have to sleep and work. Has anybody here had experiance with ray births and bad tankmates?

I had a 14" CK with newborn pups no problems, but Bichers are a different story. They are know to kill adult rays. Why don't you move them and let the pups be with their mum?

mmmm not sure about polys but i have a 13inch tigrinus and a 12inch dat cambelli in with my ray pups with no problems

what you are saying seams to be a problem with motoro once my male p14 had bred with the female he didnt go near her again until the pups were born

even at breeding time you never see any marks their was the 1st time they bred when he was working out how to flip her over but not now

i have never had to split the pair up

the only problem i ever had was the male ray eating a pup i would put her by herself if possible

sorry it may be different with p14 because the adults stay a little smaller

to tell the truth p14 are not aggressive at all not a mark on the male or female after breeding this time
