Over the weekend I bought 4 otocinclus. Every day for the past 3 days one keeps dying. I'm super lucky that this one even lasted 2 days. One bad thing that he does though now that his friends are gone he never comes out in the open. Since the 3 died i performed a 30% water change and tested the nitrites nitrates ammonia. Nitrites (zero), nitrates (zero) and even the ammonia is zero. I checked the ph a couple minutes ago and it was 5.6. I think thats good for them right? Well, they are from the
amazon. The temp. is 79.0-81.9 degrees.
Suspects include:
x9 juvanile angelfish (biggest 1-1/2 in. smallest, 3/4 of an in.)
x 9-10 ghost shrimp (four with babies)
x5 assasin snails

Any advice?:idea::feedback:

IME float the bag for atleast 30mins and what I use to add water to the bag is a baby med syringe fill it up with water and drop it in every 10-15mins for atleast 2 hours. I keep my temp at 76 (I think yours too high) I don't have a heater in the tank and ph at 6 or less don't really check that. I use 75 rain 25 tap. My tank is 1yr old with lots a algae your tank has to well established. I have 8 otos, 7 zebra otos, 12 African butterfly barb and a big group of Blue tiger shrimps in a 20 gal long. Oh yeah btw since you have only one better go out and get atleast 4-5 more they like to be in groups and watch out for the angels since otos are fairly small they will be treat later on. HTH.
