Are these tanks for hatching eggs? If so, I dont recommend plants since hatching tanks should be as clean and sterile as possible. I sterilise with weak bleach and run a UV on my hatchery tanks. No filtration necessary since eggs have minimal waste over the few days needed for hatching.
If your using plants on a fry rearing tank then thats a different story. Ottocinclus will eat eggs and perhaps wrigglers but not free swimming fry. Good choice for plants since they have soft sucker mouths. Another option is large golden snails. These will help clean up overfeeding and their waste encourages infusoria. The snails will eat eggs too but not new born wrigglers or fry. Potted plants can also be easily switched out to other tanks if you think they need occasional cleaning.
