Hi...wanted to share some pics of 2 of our 5 JDs.
First pic is male. Second pic I think is female. Third pic is of both of them. These 2 appear to have paired off. Let me know what you think of them and if I got the genders wrong.

Love em! The female has some genetic dorsal fin issue but looks cool! Is she dark because she's about to spawn?

We were wondering what was up with her dorsal fin. She's been dark like this since we got her. She used to lighten up occasionally when she was in the smaller tank. I'm pretty positive the other 3 are female as well and they are smaller and darker than her.

SO doesn't think they are sexually mature yet but I think they are. Haven't seen any for sure spawning behavior yet. They recently just started joining up and staying within close vinicinty of each other frequently.

Thank you. These are SO's favorite type of cichlid. I was hesitant about them but I'm enjoying them now.
