We have found many threads on clown knifes but not much on royal's.Who has a big royal and do show some pics.How big do these guys get?Ours is 14 inches and is the boss of our 240.

yeh i have a 3 foot ++ (bout 38-40 inches) pair of royal knifefish in my pond. heres a video of him ull love it

yeh they grew at a pretty average rate..maybe an inch or two a month...then i threw them into 2 ponds and lost sight of them cause they were always hidden in the rocks. the next thing i knew i had to catch them cause i was moving to a new house and they were 3 feet! i was likehotfishgirls;1259652;1259652 said:

Royal CK's get just as big as normal ck's to my knowledge, maybe a lil' smaller. The biggest I've heard of is 40'' for a royal(TLKmDN's) and 48'' for a normal(SHEDD aquarium's).
yeh i have to agree....4ft (48 inches) seems to be about the max length of a CK but they bulk out and grow tall considerably more than wen they are younger. in tasik kenyir (kenyir dam) in malaysia the locals always speak of 7 foot snakeheads and 7 foot knifefish. ive never personally seen one but the fishermen (one of my uncles) talk about it like its the most normal thing in the world...i guess things really grow huge in large spaces...
