Pretty cool. Seeing this thread made me remember how fun and rewarding it is to grow a fish out from a baby.

Be warned...they are addicting...I started with just a lone albino sens my girlfriend and I found in our local LFS, now I want the whole tank filled with bichirs lol. I only have the sens and a koliba now...but it wont be that way for long.

You'll need to wait a while on the ornate. They grow much quicker than senegalus. Your cute little sen might end up as food a few months down the road if you aren't careful.

What are you feeding them, and how often? You should invest in massivore. My juvenile tank is growing really fast on it!
Also, keep in mind that an ornate will reach 20" or perhaps more. They will need at least a 125, but a 180 is preferable.
