It’s been quite some time since I’ve done an update on Mrs. Wiggles. She’s our well-loved (and well-fed) 5 year old female Midas. Currently resides in a 75G to herself and just loves to lay eggs every 3-4 weeks. Genetically speaking, she’s nowhere near as big as the other Amphs I’ve kept over the years. She’s currently only around 8”, but super thick and tall-bodied (as Midas Cichlids typically are).
One thing that I really like about her is how docile she is, especially compared to my Hoga (and every other maniac Amphilophus I’ve kept over the years). She only gets aggressive/territorial when defending her eggs. Otherwise, she’s just a busy little bee who digs holes and moves mountains of sand all day. Anyways, I thought it would be nice to do a long overdue update. Nikon 50mm f/1.8
