My first post here,

I have 5 4-6" rbp and 1 3-4"rbp in a 90gallon tank (48"x25"x18") with a 1300gph powerhead creating circulation and strong currents for swimming, 9watt uvc sterilizer 220gph, aquaclear110 with double bio inserts, 300watt heater@76.5-77°, low lite 24"flourecent and plenty of bubbles, tank is cycled, i feed pellets, talapia, ghost shrimp, 15-20 feeders/week, crawfish here and there. All the fish have great color and behavior, but recently i.m.o the strongest and largest fish is very skiddish and or protective, today he ran from one end to another hitting the wall so hard my cat jumped up and it really freaked me out, luckily he swam back to his usual zone and kinda just stays there now, but even before this hes been displaying aggression towards his tankmates, hes even darker. When they erre younger I had them in a 55gal and transfered them not too long ago. All the rest seem fine and as im writing this the wild one just swims and doesnt mind anyone, maybe that bump on the head put him in check?
Ive heard of them laying eggs but i have black gravel and i dont see n e thing, before this i was going to give him away for his violence, but hes never really bit any of em execpt for a fin nip or 2.

Any advice towards anything you read or see would be great! Ive had experience for a couple of years but.only a few months with the pygos! But i love them and i love seeing them flourish! Also i realize i need more effient filtration as they are growing, for now frequent water changes and filter insert cleaning has to safice and also i know the uv will prlly kill any and all living matter so i plan on netting eggs if i ever see them

Btw how do you post pics?

And now hes being skiddish again! Should i quarimtine?

Being skittish is norm pygo behavior, ecspecially at that size. so it running in to the side of the tank sounds pretty normal. At 4-6" I doubt you have eggs. But start with the basics. What are your water conditions?

Ph-7.0 no ammonia or any algae growth, i keep my tanks very clean and in my 2-3 years of aquarium experience (which isnt much) ive only had a bunch of feeder fish die when i was attempting breeding cuz i put in a reptile decor on accident lol. But other then that i do alot of research on my fish and make sure they get everything, my pygos are so spoiled they sit by my auto feeder in the morning and wait for the pellets to drop. Idk ive never seen a fish hit that hard before and if it werent a piranha or rbp for that matter i know itd be dead. Today their all fine but any advice is appreciated. Like how to post pics!

Ok i finally figured it out!! Heres my 90gal with 6-4-6" rbp, very healthy and facinating little guys
