ive ran out of prime and am wonderin how much water i can safely change without dechlor? or i can use ammo lock, which says it will dechlor but i really dont want to use it cause it causes false readings on my perams. tank is 150g and i think ive read 10% is safe without dechlor?

I've done ~10% safely. Could probably do more, but wouldn't push it. It depends on how much chlorine is in your water. Not knowing this, I'd go with 10%.

10% if it's necessary, do another change as soon as you get more prime.

put new water in a bucket and throw an airstone in there for a couple hours to gas off the chlorine. the problem is that if you have chloramine in the water it will not gas off, and it is a lot more harmful than chlorine itself. i would wait if at all possible.

Wait a day. Not gonna kill the fish.
Adding water without dechlor might, depending.

yeah, even if it's small enough to not harm the fish, it's not worth risking your bacteria and having to cycle all over again. if something like this happens where the water is getting bad but you don't have dechlor, i would remove enough water to allow the filters to splash. even though there is less water, the oxygen will be increased and that IMO is better than risking possibly harmful chlorine exposure.

you should test your tap water for chlorine and chlorimine along with other perams first. i know when i tested my tap water it has no chlorine, chlorimine or ammonia so there is absolutely no need for declor for me. maybe there is no need for you either. (but then again i have well water....ah it tastes soooooo good!)

why can't you just buy more?
