Right now in my bedroom I have an un-inspiring Aqueon Evolve 8 with a betta. I am looking for something more interesting and less mainstream (different) to replace it with. I could keep the tank or start afresh with almost anything under 20 gallons. I have never done a saltwater tank but have been wanting to give it a shot and was throwing around if a native so cal saltwater tank would be possible? I just want a cool sleek tank, fresh or salt that is different than what most people have. I really like biotopes and replicating the animals natural environment. Any ideas on a cool centerpiece for my bedroom?

you can do sw in that tank, wont look as sleek as the massive coral tanks but still nice, I have a link some where. they use small tanks 5-20g for mini reefs with no fish. apparently its not too hard to do.
