So I bought a 180 gallon tank a month ago to put my Marble Pim, gar, ck, and a peacock bass. I loved these fish a lot. So during the initial planning process my dad, im 18 living at home, told me that he thinks our water pipes may have backed up again. So we do some investigating. Long story short pipes need repairing that will back track the project a month or two. So a month passes and i got this 10" marbled pim in a 55 and im freaking out cause i have to get him out of there. Another long story short tank is gonna take a while to set up.

Ughghghgh

Im a senior in HS so ill be going to college next fall so i decided to give my fish to a lfs that would give them a bigger home( especially the Pim), then someone with a big tank will buy them and they will have a bigger tank.

Very very sad week for me..i have absolutely no fish now but i still have 5 tanks.

I think for Christmas i might go get a little cichlid or something but idk...it just doesnt feel right not having a fish.

I got back into the hobby after my daughter begged and begged for a tank. I went quite some time fishless. Now after having tanks again I dont know how I did it. The hobby is horribly addictive. I dont think ill be getting rid of fish anytime soon. I think its a good idea to get a small tank going again, that way you can take it to school and enjoy it there!

im not sure. They might. I want a tank for my house right now though just to stare at when im bored.

And your right it is terribly addictive.

Im feeling your pain.
I moved interstate 6 months ago and had to leave most of my fish behind. Ive only got one 4ft tank running at the moment and its just not good enough.
Ive got an empty 180 and 220 and its driving me insane! I feel like an addict that needs a fix!

Will they let you have a fish tank in the dorm? I know some will, but not all.

I'm pretty sure that most colleges will let students in dorms have aquariums provided that they're small. Typically, the maximum is either 20 gallons or 10 gallons from what I've found with 10 gallons being the norm.
