I just got a 180 gallon tank to replace my 125. The trouble? The 125 has been outside (next to my house) for almost a year! That means it sunk into the dirt about an inch, lol. So I have to extend out to make room for the wider (front to back) tank, and put pavers down even with the sunken ones. I'll be updating my progress as I go.

First pic is the "new" tank in the truck
Second is all the buckets and containers I'll be using for the fish
Third in the 125 at the moment.

I thought about keeping an outdoor tank but I figured it would be a chore keeping up with the algae growth. How bad is the algae?

I wanted to do a totally natural tank with just maybe some tree frog tadpoles to refresh a local population with a hutch on top for the adult frogs. Being outside would mean it would be pretty much self sustaining with all the bugs and would be part of the cool factor. Watching all the water bugs and various larvae would be neat.

Of course the neighbors wouldn't like the malaria farm next door, but screw them. It would be payback for the constantly barking dogs.

Algae was really bad at first, but tons of water circulation, two marineland 350 Hobs and some plecostomus took care of that.

Pavers down.
