I just had your standard 3 compartment sump. It sucked. So I got a new one.

You can probably see why I did not like it.

Just look at that nasty salt creep!

"post mortem" exam, yuck.
New:

Shiny, new sump smell.

Multifunction. Can run 100% bioball, 100% berliner, or 50-50.

Boy was I nervous maneuvering that in there. (need to lower that heater don't I...:screwy:)

This Bad boy is the Magnavore MD-125. I had to remove the door and hinges to fit this puppy in my stand. Even then i had to give it a good tap to get it past the corner. I hope it does me good. My plans for the future include a refugium and protein skimmer.

very nice. Nothing like a shiny new sump.

Thanks guys! so far everything is running as they should. I'm Looking at making a fuge out of a 2.5 gallon tank i have laying around. Need to drill it though.

Nice sump!!!!

Got your pm. I'm thinking I may not need to drill the little 2.5 gallon tank, I can just let it overflow.

My plan is to put it in the sump (there's plenty of room) I jacked a little pump from an old nano skimmer I had so I can pump water into the 2.5 fuge. My original idea was to drill 2 holes in the side so it would drain slower than it would if i just let it overflow. I'm not sure if letting it overflow off all 4 sides would be to much flow and not allow enough time for things to grow before they are already in the tank.

What do you think?

I hope to keep mandarin's after I get my fuge running for a few months. There one of the main reasons I got into marine fishkeeping in the first place.

Got the holes drilled in the fuge today. I need to get the stuff for it now.

Drilling glass was easier than I was expecting. Only one small crack on my first attempt.
