Check aquaticeco.com and you'll find filtration systems for commercial applications such as catfish breeding. I have high-density ponds and use a large bead filter with a dedicated blower to keep the filter beads moving and aerated. The bead filter holds 650 gals of water/media. A 300gal prefilter performs my coarse and medium stripping, pH balancing (limestone rubble), calcium infusion (suspended crushed oyster shell, and holds a chamber with a ballcock and auto-valve to trickle fill the 9000gal system (soon to be 18000gals). I use 3 30gal/min pumps on the system (2 inline/1 backup). The system also has a commercial-size protein skimmer that I use partially for stripping and mainly for increasing dissolved O2. With this system, I'm able to raise crays at a concentration level of 150lbs per 450gal bin.
