i am having a few probs with my 9' wide and 3.5' tall pond
have kept koi in there
my koi carps and golds used to always come up when ever someone used to go near the pond
but since a few days there has been a bird that is fishing for free in my pond
put up a net to cover the pond and one of my dogs tore it, the dogs have to be left free to roam in the night to keep the thieves out :D,
don't want to kill the bird, as it is just doing what naturally comes to it
any idea how to save my fish from the bird
already most of 6"+ golds are gone
any ideas or help would be really great thank you

Keep the dogs out,
A motion sensor that sprays water,
I heard about a paintball gun a kid used that caused the bird to never return to that yard. He used a paintball gun to mark the bird to see if it returns or a different bird that was coming. No sight of the bird since.

i would never find a paintball gun here although i have been constantly stopping myself from using my dads gun at least untill now
can't keep the dogs out all day
one of them (german shepherd is cool, i mean he isn't that ferocious) but the other (rottwieler, he is too difficult to handle and can be left free only in the nights)
the german shepherd is always on the other side of the house and he will never see the bird from there, and wouldn't want to tie him there

Look into the motion sprayers.

A few lines of monofilament (clear fishing line) strung across the pond in a grid formation so the birds can't fly or walk in does it here.
