Ok guys and gals i have searched this site high and low and cant seem to find the answer to this question. I live in Valdosta, GA the climate is hot during summer when temperatures tend to be in the high 80's and cool during winter when temperatures tend to be in the 50's. The warmest month of the year is July with an average maximum temperature of 92.00 degrees Fahrenheit, while the coldest month of the year is January with an average minimum temperature of 38.00 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperature variations between night and day tend to be moderate during summer with a difference that can reach 22 degrees Fahrenheit, and moderate during winter with an average difference of 25 degrees Fahrenheit. The frost line here is 5"
That being said I want to build a pond 8'L x 5'w x 3'D. It will receive about 45% to 55% direct/indirect sunlight for most of the year. Will I be able to get by without a heater? Will it be big enough to house my TSN and 4 FL gar? Can i have some ideas on filtration? Any other suggestion are welcome also

the TSN will most likely to die when the temperature go under 50! Florida could be fine!

You will need to heat it. The TSN won't survive the winter.

any ideas for heating?

What? You know he said 8x5x3 right? That is plenty, and bigger than 99% of other people give these fish.

^ what he said.... any ideas for heating?
