im planning on picking up a tank for a pair of senegals and probably a small JD to all put in a 55g in a few months. would a 20L or 20H be a good size? the senegals are about 3" and the JD would be about the same size. i have a AC110 for the tank.

I would do the 20 long for more surface area.....i.e.....more swimming room.

I agree; the extra length allows the fish to swim and grow which is the purpose of the temp setup.

20 long would be best bichirs need lenght and width more than depth of water.-Anne
