Ok i have 3 ideas on how to position the output of my fx5... as you know it has a whopping output so its hard to use it without causing a turbojet.
Im going to have light plants in the tank but theres an arowana in there too so i dont want to blast the top

Issue i have is outlet and inlet are on same side of tank and i want all the water to mix
Here are the ideas:

1. Normal output you can see the rough pressure here i dont think its on full but its nearly there with a powerhead on the other side.

2. Spraybar all the way round the top to give a gentle surface aggitation

3. Spraybar round the end and accros the top to give surface aggitation and to keep a good internal circulation

I think its a bit much. When the FX5 is full of media, the output is not that strong and I think hardly any water will be coming out the far end of the spray bar. I suggest keeping the orginal FX5 water outlet...

flo does seem a little weak in the pic I thin kyour best bet is to just try the different length spraybars. But I also think that whole tank rim one was to long maybe the length of the back of the tank but not the whole thing.

yah note... flow is low for 2 reasons

1. Taps not open fully

2. I am using the fx5 to drain water from my temp tank total pump pressure height over 2m as intake is on floor

3. the total pipe from in to out is about 4m long

The flow is whopping normally... im just using the pic to show the flow direction and position

FX5 = BEST filter

if that was a normal flow picture the water would of been shooting half way across the tank. i just recently installed one with biomax and prefilter and it blew all my longstemed plants around like a tornado. 125 gallon long.
