breaking down the 90 gallon to set up a 150 in it's place, in the mean time I am keeping the BB alive by running the fx5 on my little quarantine tank. Looked so funny thought I would share ;)

Wow, major overkill. What's the current like in there?

You do realize that the BB (Benificial bacteria) level in the filters can only match the fish load of the tank the filters on...

yeah but it is alot better than leaving it dry for a week i am sure

The current is pretty nuts there is 1 poly in there he just chills under the return nozzle

The BB in the filters will die off wether dry or wet in the absence of ammonia in the proper level to feed it.

Without a source of Ammonia they will all die. You should keep it artificially seeded with pure ammonia.

As long as you can keep some alive, you can expect them to double every 24 hours as long as there is enough food.

I would venture to guess that the 8 inch polly in 25-30 gallons of water would have the same if not greater bio load as two 3 inch p-bass in a 150 gallon

I appreciate your concern but I was not asking for advice I know how the nitrogen cycle works ;)
