i think i could be over filtering my tank its a 90 gallon with 2 emp 400s an a fluval 205.Is ok for my arowana what should i do??

that is fine...I had a eheim 2028 and 2 rena xp3's ....a seio 620 powerhead as well as a rena 200 18'' bubblewand running on my african tank...(125g)..............:)

Should be fine with that filtration you have. Not exactly the best choice but both type of filters are of good quality. As for the aro in the 90g, youve probably got 9 months to a year and then it'll need to move to a much larger tank. If you goto the thread in the link below, you can see the results of keeping an aro in a 90g tank for to long.

No such thing as over filtering...

Yes, there is. When you're dealing with a small arowana like the one in question you need to be careful when it comes to filtration. Too much current can stress the fish and make it difficult for it to eat. When overfiltration goes too far it's also just a waste of power.

I think what was described will be ok, just make sure the aro is comfortable looking (swimming near the surface almost nonstop) and eating well.

I do not think two emps and a fluval 205 are making that much current to bug a fish. I had an xp3 and a powerhead in a 30g and i could barely feel the current.

I know what your saying i do have a high electric bill, but when your running multiple tanks and setting new ones up its always good to have some extra biomedia on hand...

i also have alot of bubbles !!! it seems to be alot of current but my aro still eats but not very much . as for the tank i will be moving him to 150+ in 7 months give or take.

I was simply disagreeing with your "no such thing as overfiltration" comment.
I know that a small arowana has a tough time with strong current, possibly even the current from a weak XP3 lol ( No need to flame me, I have 4 XP3s, but they're still over rated IMO)

If you want to have established filters around .......run a few extra sponge filters. They'll hold more BB than any power filter at a fraction of the cost;)

I like lots of filtration in my tanks. I have never seen too much filtration.
