need help with diy overflow box. Curruently put together overflow box with 2 lee's specimen containers. 1.skimmer box in tank. 2. hang on outside tank. 15 gal sump 5gal bucket filter. Using 3/4 in cpvc pipe & elbows as my siphon tube. However, i cannot get the water to siphon from tank to overflow box. any suggestions on how to get it going. I'm about to pull my hair out about this.

Stick an air line through the U tube all the way to the top of the bend. Use a cup to fill both boxes and make sure the U tube ends are submerged. What I used to do then is blow into the airline to create as big an air pocket as possible in the U tube, then suck to start the siphoning process. The tank water level should be just above the skimmer box to begin with, with room in sump. It'll even out as the system flows.

Is there anything else that needs to be done to get this thing going right? This is placed on my 30 gal but will build a better one(s) 4 my 75 gal, 40 gal and 20 gal. I just need to get it right this time around to absorb the main concept.
I've resently fell in luv with this hobby and i'm stuck. So threrfore i wasen't around 32 months ago.

Butchkidd, can you post any pics of your setup? You might have to add another PVC overflow tube. Also, what size is the hose/pipe FROM your overflow box TO your sump?
