I just recently got a Eshopps overflow box 1000 dual u tube, I've noticed that one of the u tubes starts sucking in bubbles and the siphon stops. The water level is good. No air stone in tank. It looks like to me that the water level in the box is low but I've had this for about 6 weeks and it didn't do this in the beginning. What could cause this? Could it be something I did?

Thanks

Is it uneven ? that's the only thing i can think of atleast for the overflow i made before it wasn't even and it would break the siphon fairly easy other than that i can't help much with it sorry :S

I believe you can always put a small check-valve on the top of the tube and suck out the pocket of air. sounds like it's just uneven somehow.

Some of the water overflowing is probably splashing in the overflow box and it's going in the tube. Try putting a sponge in the overflow box to prevent splashing. You may have to move it around to find the right spot.

ok i have an idea i did try this in my diy overflow system and it kind of worked.. what you can do is connect the tube from the overflow box to the inline of a powerhead in this way if there is any accumulation of air in the box the powerhead will pull it out. the pictures shows a long line of tube but you can make it shorter or place the powerhead beside the overflow unit. just have try and see whether it works in your situation..

im almost certain that ehopps overflow already has sponges on the inlets, although they could have been removed or whatever. most likely the problem could be the box is uneven or there could be a leak somewhere

This will work if you chose to do it.

It does sound like something is amiss. You are either getting air from splashing or from an uneven water level on both sides. You might be draining too quickly. Can we get a pic?

You might be draining too quickly.

That was my first thought as well.
What kind of pump are you running?
Your overflow is probably not running at peak if your pump isn`t delivering enough back to the tank.
