do you guys think my 135 gal. 6ft tank would be over stocked with a vieja argentea, oscar, tex, red terror, and jd. not all full grown yet, but i'm wondering if they can reach a good size in there.

I think if your argentea is a male and even slightly alpha, he will kill all the others when he matures.
My male argentea tried to kill every fish in a 150 gal when he matured, he had to be sequestered in his own tank to save much larger, and fish with considerably worse reputations . That said, any personality can be different in any fish.

all depends on the personality of the fish. the ones to keep a close eye on are the red terror and argentea. regardless if they get along or not you're going to have to really keep up with the water changes as well cause they're going to put quite a strain on the bioload as they reach adulthood.

don't have the tex in there yet, but was thinking of putting him in there to free up my 75 to go n a diff direction. guess i might just leave him in there and maybe put the jd with him.

I think it would look sweet if it worked out. The Argentea and Festae will be the biggest obstacle. If they remain civil with their tankmates, all will be well. But if either one of them chooses to own the tank, there will be chaos. Your 135 will be a bit crowded after a while. You will have to divide that stock eventually. But for now I hope it works.

Just send Me the festae and you'll have enough room. ;) If they get along then you should be okay till they hit 10" or so.Then You would need to re-home somone

I'd keep my eye on the Texas especially if the fish are young. Texas Cichlids grow pretty fast like the Oscar but can have a real nasty temperment if they get larger than the other fish quickly.

Id do it-in my 240 gallon I have
Trimac-12
Amarillo-10
Xilano-8
Dovii (female)-7
Snook-5
Kraussi-5
and will soon add a Cuban and Quetzal-just clean tank twice a week have a lot of filtration and caves.
