over tank trickle filter?

so where do you get these? where a box is over a opening of the tank and the pump pumps water into it and it goes down back into the tank.

i got mine from somebody on here.... but you can diy them easy... search the diy forum i think it was this forum that somebody built one....

i havent set mine up yet.... but i cant see how it wouldnt work well... same concept as sump.... just overhead....

there is a stackable variety that allows you to add more and more media. They are pretty popular in Japan, since alot of people keep there tanks on low stands and dont have the room for a sump.

Heres a few pics of my 40gallon over the tank trickle filter, filtering a 360gallon tank. The pump is in the tanking pumping water up into the filter passing thru a filter sock, some additional filter pads and carbon, trickling over bio media and draining back into the tank. Not the prettiest setup, but it works.
