Several years back, my wet pet died of old age. I spent a long time not enjoying my own favorite hobby, but today that changes...BECAUSE...I ordered my dream fish (Jaguar cichlids). I am so excited to receive my grow-outs!! They are going into an established 125gallon aquarium with plenty of gut-loaded fish to feast on!!! :headbang2I plan to only keep one (whichever one I like the most). They are actually arriving Today!!! I will post pictures when they have acclimated!! I had to tell you guys...I am So excited....

The real exciting thing about these new fish, though, is that they are helping me to move on from losing Lotus (fish in avatar), and I will enjoy the hobby again. I really struggled for months (really, years) just even doing basic maintenance on my tank. I've been told that ,"It's just a fish!." I loved my wet pet (more than most people), and it was like losing a dog for me. I guess what applies to dogs can be applied to fish. The best remedy for losing a prized wet pet is to get a new one.

I am suffering from the same thing. I just lost my baby RTC, along with a Raphael catfish and ID sharks which I loved with all my heart.I keep the raph and the sharks for a long time and I can't bear the sorrow.:cry:
PS they died due a ich breakout

I'm sorry. I know it sucks. Try getting a new wet pet when you feel like the time is right for you...

I would allow for a pair
You will get better colors out of them
And they will have a “purpose” to their behaviors

I had a pair that lived with several turtles
They would spawn and push the turtles to the other side of the tank
Great fun
Do not do this in a 125

I don't want to risk it. From what I've read , in order to breed Jaguar cichlids you need at least a 180gallon. I don't think the two little guys (Dre and Devlynn) like each other much at this point. They seem to be ignoring all the other fish and picking on each other, already. 🤭
