This is a tank at a Chinese restaurant I eat at. It may not be evident in this picture, but those Pacu are HUGE. They look to be about 17 inches long. Tank looks like a 75g or 55g. They've been there for at least a few years and appear healthy. What do you guys think? Too much fish and too little tank?

agreed.
one of the chinese restaurants ive been to has a 75 with 5 oscars and 2 common plecos...

looks like a 55 gallon..... So sad :( Definitely time to sell the fish or upgrade to a 300 +

Agreed with others. 1 wouldn't be too bad and maybe just maybe two with an FX5 or so for filtration. BUT it looks like it's not even maintained real well. Who has three large fish and is missing 5-10 gallons at the top because it's not full. Might be a 55 but minues the gallons at the top and it even less. :( Poor fish.

Yeah I went to a thai restaurant a little while ago and they had like 3 blood parrots about 6 inch, a 8-9 inch barb (dont know species) and a oscar that was about 8 inches or so all in a 55 gallon. I figure its all just for looks. It seems like a trend among restaurants. They treat it more as decorations for their restaurant rather than caring for the welfare of the animals.

Yeah deffinately time for an upgrade. When a fish can't obviously turn around easily... time to get a new tank. more then time... Tank like that make me mad, and sad. At least it looks like they are kept in relatively good water conditions, and fed at least. Someone cares for these fish.
