Hi everyone, I was just wondering if a leichardti can eat itself to death. I have a baby of about 5 inches that just swallowed a whole bloodworm cube nearly the size of its head (after biting a few chunks off it).

Was meant for sharing with my similar sized pleco, since it usually just takes a few bites from the floating cube and ignores it when it starts sinking more than 3" below the surface (the pleco eats that)

After that meal, it's swimming sluggishly at the middle of the tank with a bulging belly, which is unusual. Have i killed it?

Its just stuffed should be fine.:)

I would personally still offer food since Aro is still juvenile. Are you offering other foods beside bloodworms? If not try floating food sticks such as Hikari brand, treat Aro with live crickets.:)

My fish do that as well when they get a big meal. Hell I even do that after a big meal get sluggish with my belly coming out. haha
