Hi guys i was just wondering how much to feed a 8" RTG arowana...usually i heard they would stop eating when its satisfied but i just bought superworms and decided to feed him it.i didnt starve him before hand he usually eats pellet. But when i gave him superworms, he at 12 superworm then about 6+ hikari floating pellets and about 5+ Live prawns and he still can eat more so... I know i maybe overfeeding it but what is the maximum i should give him

It's always hard to say, if he's a glutton stop feeding when you can see the stomach is full . a full stomach every other day is more then enough. or break that same amount into smaller ore frequent meals, really depends on the fish but that's my general rule of thumb.

Also , i highly recommend removing that RES turtle i see swimming in the background, Sliders can becomes quite predatory and can
shred fish even large ones like that nice RTG! There are other less aggressive/less predatory species that you can sometimes get away with, but RES is a disaster waiting to happen!

Edit: BTW great looking RTG, looks to be a good healthy weight so i'd say your doing a good job!

Beautiful fish. If ur fish takes pellets, feed it pellets daily & once a week, give him prawn and superworms.

You're lucky to have an aro that takes pellets

As -DC- said, definitely a varied controlled diet is key for a healthy aro (mine would eat like she's never full just like yours) nonetheless, like Arowawna718 said, you're really lucky to get your aro to eat hikari floating pellets, mine would only take the sinking carni pellets, he hates the floating ones for some odd reason.

Most of the arowanas I have work with are that way. They will just keep eating till they explode. I agree with dc on how to monitor / come up with a regular feeding amount. Then just adjust as needed with growth.
