overfiltration

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not really. The bio-media will grow as much as it is feed. What size tank are you worried about? What have you got on it?

Not really, unless you create so much current that your fish wear themselves out swimming against it. Not usually a problem with big fish, but with small delicate fish like guppys and bettas you can set up too much current in the tank for them to handle.

Having extra filters isn't a problem in itself, like Ziggy2 said they will just grow the amount of bacteria to suit the bioload, if it's only 1/4 the max the filter could physically support thats not a problem.

Cheers

Ian

the only time you can have to much filtration is when you made a vortex in you aqurium:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::)

LMAO:lol3:

The more filters you have, the higher your chances of something failing or leaking. I have a lot of fish tanks and can tell you some horrible stories of equipment failure which lead to mass wipeouts. So I would use some common sense on this topic.
