hello fellows,

I am picking a 180g in couple days, and this 180g come with 2 built in overflow on each corner. there are 2 holes drilled on the bottom of each corner for the overflow.

my question is how much flow or return pump do I need for each overflow? I already go 2 sump for the tank, and I want to know what flow fate pump should i buy.

also the hole is drilled freshly new. how can i seal the hole when i run the pipe for the pump> ? is there any kind of bulkhead or something so the water doesnt leak out?

please give me some idea, advise, input would be much appreciated.

I always aim for 3x tank volume turnover. A lot of people go higher, but I always get great results with low flow rates. For a DIY bulkhead fitting, I used this:http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116609

once again thanks for the help...that leak is very help. i will use that for pipe.

one more question....how do I know how many time the tank volume turnover?

let say the overflow flow water into the sump, how many or much rate the pump with push out the water to keep running constantly?

The tank will only overflow what your pump puts into the tank.

I'm running my 180 and w/d at about 750 gallons per hour = 750/180 = turnover of 4.1 times per hour.

A quietone4000 pump is just about the right size for a dual 1" bulkhead and a 180 gallon tank.
