does anyone on here stuff their overflow with media? i was thinking i would put matala mat over some bioballs or substrat pro.

it helps if u do it. but theres no mechanical in the overflow so ur bio will get really dirty and eventually just a house for ammonia to build up. and really hard to take out when u wanna clean it.
I've seen a picture of a guy who has a large diameter clear downtube with bio-balls in it. I wouldn't want to do it inside a standard overflow becuase I'd be worried about it clogging up.
There are people that stuff theirs with filter floss, but generally no bio-media. As T said, it just gets too dirty to mess with for bacteria.
