I purchased this overflow box to replace the loud PVC overflow that I built. I didn't know how the middle chamber would affect setting it up as either a Herbie or Durso. The bulkheads are for 1". Would the center chamber cause an issue with either style? It has two middle tubes that go down in the center chamber. I would imagine there is not enough room for a Durso.

What is your plan to turn this into a durso or herbie?
The filter on the ends of the drains are designed to smooth the flow a little and act as a pre filter, they will still make some drain noise.
It may end up being quieter than what you had , but not as quit as a herbie.
I doubt that you have enough room to change this to durso.
It may be possible to make one drain a full siphon and the other take up the rest, it will take some adjustments on the flow of one drain with a valve to maintain a full siphon.
The other will have to be raised slightly.
It may be possible but the design changes may make this unreliable.

Ive ran those as is many times over the yrs… depending on ur flow u may only need 1 siphon tube. Honestly i ran them without the sponges or pipe extensions also. Dont see the need to play with it. U can kill any sound by putting a lid on it ??…

This is one I ran, with a 1-1/4" U tube.

When I tried to run an extra U tube, and the pump size I used, flow wasn't;t strong enough to keep bubbles from building up which inhibited siphon.
As Wednesday13 mentioned, putting cap over the overflow tubes sin the outer chamber to the sump kept sound low.
So I found no need to use Durst or herbie.
