Hello, I plan on adding a sump to my 125 and have a question regarding the overflow box. The filters I have in the tank are a fx5, xp4, and some crappy ebay canister (which i plan to replace with the sump). I do not want to take out my fx5 and the xp4, so do I have to take into consideration the flow rate of those two canister when choosing the overflow box? Or is it the return pump of the sump the only one that needs to match with the overflow box?

Don't worry about the canisters, just the return pump u plan to use

The canisters are a closed system so you don't need to worry about the amount of water moved by them. However if you plump the inlet of the canisters in the overflow box (which is not recommended) then its a different story.
