In Your Imagination
I am heading to home depot tomorrow and would like to know the flow rates of the diy pvc overflows. Specifically what size i would need to handle a 700gph pump. All help is appreciated.

The long sticky on DIY overflows I think has this info, but probably would take you all day to read it. I may be wrong here, but if I remember right 1" maxed at about 600 GPH so you would probably be ok with that (assuming your 700 gph at whatever head wont actually be doing 700 gph).

Again though this is just based off a fuzzy memory dont only take my word for it.

Based on the limited information, that was a good response. ^

To go one step farther, plan for two one inch overflows. If one slows or gets plugged, you will appreciate the second one.

looks like i am going with a quiet one 4000 with a flow rate of 1017gph. Will i still be good with tho 1 in overflows or should i take the safe route and go with 1.5 or 2 in overflows?

Always go with safe, but check the brand new sticky on flow ratings. Chompers just created it yesterday.

After a couple minutes on pentairs website I found this flow chart. So it looks like at 5 feet head i will only have about 700gph.

If you want to go to a bigger pump, here is the chart with all of their pumps.
