IN YOUR HEAD
i just put in my overflows for my sump and it has the drain gurgle. i am looking to see if there is a screen or a grate system that wont clog and will stop the sound that will also prevent any fish/pellets from going down. i have 1" pipes with a 2" opening at the top and they flow into individual 1.25" pipes after the bulkheads. the flow rate of the tank is 1000gph. my return line is 7' long, though it is only a 3.5-4' lift to the tank.

now i don't trust the inline to stay put long term with the suction cup bracket. so i would also like to see how and what dimentions i should make the spray bar. i have an idea, but i don't know how many holes to put in the pvc pipe and pipe diameter for the proper flow. the pipe would be about 18-20" long with a cap on the end.

thanks

SpraybAr is a good idea, thats what I use, I'm concerned with the size of your plumbing compared to the flow... Sounds like 2-1" drains for 1000gph? The gurgle is a long battle unless you go for like herby pipes or durso from the start. It helped me to drop airline tubing into my drains, with a clamp on there for less flow. You have any pick of the setup? Mostly plumbing and sump setup?

i have 2x 1" drains. a total of 1000gph flow through them(not counting any reduction for the lift), which is 200gph shy of the max flow of the two drains combined(which is 600gph for each 1" pipe combined rate of 1200gph). i just made a vid of the tank, but i will have to get something on the sump done up. here is a vid of the tank(focus was on fish not the filter system) on the 1" drain pipes i added caps that widen the opening to a 2" total opening, that gets reduced to 1" for the drain tubes. then after the 1" bulkheads it goes into 1.25" separate pipes for each drain that brings the water from the bulkheads to the sump. in this vid you can see the return pipe and the suction cup holder. i have some rocks on the tubing as well but i want a more secure method to return the water. i for see the suction cup coming off and the return line coming out and draining the whole system onto the floor. i already cleaned up 120gals off the floor once when the original overflow tube broke when i was installing them(i didn't drain the tank due to the fish in it).
