I recently purchased a used 180 from Offer up. First time setting up a sump. I need to redo the plumbing since it was previously used as a saltwater tank. The tank comes predrilled in the bottom. One larger drain hole and two smaller return lines. I do not want to drill any additional holes. Can I run a herbie setup using one drain? Does it defeat the purpose? Should I just stick to a duro?

Thanks in advance

Yes. You only need one hole for a return line. You could even return externally.

I use herbies on all my tanks. Works well for me.

So what you see in the picture I attached would work?

Both the primary and the emergency both connected to the one drain line?
