Overflow to Fluval Fx5 canister. Im just finishing up my uncles tank just want to see what you guys think. He didn't want to see heater, filter intake/outlet or any of that so he got a 92 corner tank with a built-in overflow. To make it simple for him, me and employees at my LFS figured we can just use the overflow with the canister instead of plugging the holes. So here is the setup il have actual pictures tomarrow. Please tell me it works... Plz Plz Plz  . It will make my sunday alot more relaxing.

It'll work fine. You just have to contend with the water level inside the overflow chamber. All evaporation will be seen in this small section. It would, actually, be a huge benefit to extend the FX5 intake to the bottom of the chamber to prolong the time duration between replenishments. Better yet, simply remove the standpipe and just use the bulkhead fitting with whatever strainer you wish.

Well I did it. It works like a charm! Here is quick paint drawing. and some other pics of its forgot to take picture of overflow plumbing =(. Everything works flawless! woohoo:headbang2 :headbang2

Good work and goofy pic!:)

Lol. I was so excited that it worked had to celebrate.

yeah all worked great till it started to leak. hehe but then we fixed it. (note to self dont use the tubing that comes with the fx5 on bulkheads, causes major leakage). just have to say im a pretty good photographer
