Ok I just drilled my 150 gallon I put in two 1.5" bulkheads and they are both in the same overflow basket. The basket is 12" long, 3" deep and 10" tall. I am running a 55 gallon Sump and a quite one 4000 pump which pumps 1017gph. It has been running about 4 hours now and looks like I'm not so bad a plumber. Nothing is leaking and all is well. Although I have noticed one thing that I don't like. Every 10-30 seconds I hear a slurping from the bulkheads in the overflow basket and then it's followed by a large bubble in the sump(I have the hoses go directly to the bottom of the tank to stop the sound of crashing water, thats ok right????). What can be causing this to happen???? should I have added something to the bulkheads on the inside of the tank???? I just left them flush assuming water would just flow into them. A friend of mine set his up like that and has no problems. Any help would be great this sound is driving me up the wall because I am so paranoid somethign will leak and hearing that noise makes my heart stop everytimes lol Does home insurance cover aquarium floods lol????

not good to ask the same questions in multiple posts, It gets the mods all in an uproar and then they'll combine all the posts into one.

There are two fixes.
1. Add a vent to each bulkhead (vented above the water line).
2. Add a ball valve at the end of the plumbing above the sump. Throttle it down a little bit.

What is happening is the downward flow is creating a syphon greater than what the bulkheads want to flow.
