overflow keeps GURGLING.. PLEASE HELP!!

ok i cant stand it anymore.. the intake on the overflow keeps gurgling!! there is a hole drilled in the top of the elbow with a airline hose stuffed down it alittle to help reduce the amount of gurgling noise it makes. how can i get it to stop completly??

Put a meshlike screen(fish net, gutter guards,fabrics, etc.) on the intake. This will help break up the vortex. I never had any noise after gluing mesh to the intake.


I don't know why people put a hole with an airline tube at the top, that did absolutely nothing for me.

this is a setup i got awhile back and that is what was done already.. i will try the mesh net also thanks

Yeah put your finger on an edge of the intake, vortex disappears noise disappears

i put filterpads from my aqua clear in the overflows works great,i agree you stop the vortex you stop the noise.

I had the same problem....durso took care of it...it's not completely silent but it's like 100x better
