So one of my 125g tanks sprung a leak.Got the tank out and stripped out, took out the corner overflow as well, tank is bottom drilled. Now the question is should I put it back in?Seems to me it takes up a bit of space mostly for cosmetic reasons.Ill still use the durso standpipe for quietness sake,I can put the intake as low as I want.I figured on drilling a siphon break at the waterline to prevent the siphon effect from draining the tank.
So good idea or bad idea? The tank will have my young frontosa and cyps.

If you are still going to use the Durso, then it is personal choice. i would rather have something to cover up the pipes myself.

Im still thinking about it.Its too cold here to silicone just yet,I may be able to get away with it on friday. The added safety factor of having the overflow was a good point that was mentioned to me.

It never hurts to be extra safe when dealing with 150G of water.

That may be the deciding factor.Even though the tank is in my fishroom in the basement, and I havent had a bulkhead or standpipe fail before....
