Overflow question..

On my 120 it has dual corner overflows. It has the strainer part at the top but it also has a strainer part towards the bottom, but it doesn't go all the way through. I also noticed there is a thin gap in the overflow, kind of like a inner and outer layer. Does that bottom strainer pull waste from the bottom half of the tank?

yea when water flows over the top it creates a suction....

Do you think the suction would suck up pool filter sand? I'd have to measure it but I think they are 5-6" from the bottom but I'll double check.

no your sand will be fine, but if you have someone stirring up the stand by one then sand might get sucked in.

no it wont.... its not that strong..
