iv recently built a trickle filter but as im new to overflows i had'nt really considered that the overflows have quite alot of pressure near them and im now slightly concerned if a fish gets to close. Do you guys place anything over your overflows like a strainer or just leave them? Any advice would be great. thanks in advance

I use bathtub drain stoppers from home depot, they work well except for when they get clogged with plants..I can't have any of the water sprite or java moss now lol
yeah I'd be sure to cover them with something if you are dealing with smaller fish. Larger specimens are fine.
thanks guys i tried putting some smaller pipe in then drilling a load of holes in it but because of the smaller diameter pipe it messed with the flow quite badly, have to have a rethink, il let you know how i go
well iv had a think and im going to make an acrilic box to hang over the over flows with a ton of 1/4 holes in it, that way i know that the overflows can never get blocked by plants or leaves. Il post some pics tomorrow when i have started
